Happy New Year!!

We had a great time welcoming in the New Year! We took the kids to Provo to eat at Red Robin and afterwards decided to walk around the mall a little bit. As we got into the mall, we noticed stages set up, areas roped off and lots of people coming in. They were having "First Night Provo" at the mall that night and we were there just in time! We saw Star Wars characters, a circus act, bands playing and got our faces painted. The kids loved it. Unfortunately, since I thought we were just going to dinner, I didn't even have my camera with me to take pictures of it all. On the way home, we stopped at Bob and Annalee's house and let the kids celebrate with their cousins. Just leave it to me to have confetti, horns and poppers for the kids! Annalee was a good sport and let us make a mess of her house, however, we did save the silly string for our basement the next morning! We stayed until 9:30 and had the kids in bed about 10:00 - pretty good for kids who are usually asleep by 7:30-8:00! Vaughn and I watched a movie and, well, one of us made it to midnight (hint: it wasn't Vaughn!)

*A cruise with good friends - leaving the kids behind for 9 days
*Kristi competes in a Triathlon, Wasatch Back Relay and Half Marathon
*Annette (Vaughn's sister) and Andrew move from Utah to New Jersey
*Kristine (Vaughn's sister) and Brad move from Oregon to Utah
*Kristi turns 30
*Ashton starts preschool
*Cole starts Kindergarten
*Kristi joined Vaughn on a business trip to Seattle
*Vaughn and Cole take a trip to New York/New Jersey
*Matt (Vaughn's little brother) left for his mission to Argentina
*Kristi's grandpa passed away
We had a happy, healthy year...we hope 2009 will be just as great!
