SPRING is in the air!

I'm so glad that it's warming up! I'm feeling so ready to be outside with the kids. The few nice days we've had have been awesome! The kids love it outside - the one problem is that I usually have at least 1 child in tears when it's time to come in. Our cul-de-sac is the hangout place for a lot of the kids in the neighborhood (and I mean a lot!!) I love it - I think it's great! One warm day last week we took a picnic lunch to the park, along with Cole's kite and had a blast! Here's a few pictures from our little outing.

Easter FUN!

We sure did a lot of celebrating for Easter this year! We went to a neighborhood Easter egg hunt, decorated eggs with friends, had a picnic, and had another Easter egg hunt at grandma and grandpa Peck's. The kids had tons of fun - it made it so fun for us! I love the way kids get excited about things.

"Why do you love mom?"

When I asked the boys this question, this is what they said:

"You always tickle me when I'm so cute" -Ashton
"Because you put on all that jewelry and it's SO cool" -Cole

It's so nice to be loved!! :)

Random pics

This was the morning after we got back from our cruise...I guess I forgot to feed the kids!! I must have been waiting for Ramone to come take our order or something!!

This little girl is a climber - she's into everything!

Like mother like daughter ~

Gotta love that face ~

Getting Big, Bowling & Bed Buddies!

Doesn't Jenna look so grown up in this picture? She's just one of the kids now, off playing all day long. She's such a sweetie - just growing up way too fast!

We went bowling for Birgitta's birthday. This is the first time we'd ever taken the kids. Ashton was especially fun to watch! He, of course, had to do it all by himself. He'd carry the ball over, throw it down, stand there frozen until the ball made it down the lane (sometimes this took quite awhile) and turn around with the biggest smile on his face! What a cutie!

Good form Cole!

While we were off on our cruise, the boys were very impressed with Grandma Birgitta's bed buddies she would warm up at night and put in bed with her. So what's a good grandma to do? Take the boys to the store to pick out material and make them their own bed buddies. Okay, so they are cute and all...but not at 1:30 in the morning when Ashton is crying for his bed buddy to get warmed up again. When we are driving in the morning and it's cold Ashton wants his bed buddy, when he sits down to watch a movie Ashton wants his bed buddy. As I sat in the kitchen at 1:30 in the morning waiting for the microwave to ding, I decided that we were going to have some bed buddy rules - bed buddies get warmed up one time just before bed and they stay in bed all day until it's bedtime again. So far so good - we haven't lost anymore sleep over bed buddies. Thanks grandma! ;)

My Next Adventure!

So, as if training for a triathlon wasn't enough...I am now running in the Wasatch Back Relay. http://www.ragnarrelay.com/wasatchback/index.php
I was asked by a friend to be one of 12 on a relay team. She lost her sister-in-law to breast cancer so we are "running for the cure!" It seems fitting since my mom has battled breast cancer too. Everyone I know knows someone who is running or has run in this relay before and says it's tons of fun so I'm looking forward to it. It's a 178 mile relay from Logan to Park City and takes over 24 hours to complete! Each of us will run 3 legs of the race, each leg is between 3 and 8 miles. I'm not much of a hill or a long distance runner so...there will be lots of training in the next 3 months - wish me luck!

What a week!

We had such a great trip! We're SO happy to be home with the kids again but we already miss vacation life - a lot! It really hit me when I actually had to make meals for us to eat that didn't include a menu, 4 courses, and a waiter to serve us. It was so great seeing our good friends again - I already miss them! We sure laughed a lot in a week! There were lots of late nights, card games, long lunches and songs sung at the piano bar! We had beautiful weather all week - in the 80's most days - I've been bumping up the heat all day today. Speaking of being home - I'll sure be glad when our house stops rocking!!!!

The kids had the house all decorated when we got home - it was so fun seeing them again!
